Veritas
VERITAS — The Uncomfortable Truth
Veritas is an exploration of the self beyond illusion, where identity, instinct, and the hidden dimensions of the psyche converge.
A solitary woman sits before her reflection, surrounded by symbols of duality, silent observation, and inner revelation. The crimson sun burns above her like an omen, while the mirror confronts her with another version of herself. A black cat watches from the shadows, an ancient symbol of mystery, intuition, and the unseen.
Rendered in graphite and muted crimson, the work embraces the rawness of the hand-drawn line. Its deliberately imperfect textures evoke the fragmented nature of perception and the unsettling process of confronting what lies beneath the surface.
Veritas, Latin for truth, asks a question that cannot be answered through appearances alone: Who are you when the illusions fall away?
This work invites the viewer into a private confrontation with the self — the hidden, the uncomfortable, and the parts of our identity we may spend a lifetime avoiding.
Because truth does not always arrive as light.
Sometimes, it waits in the mirror.
