Shedding

The main figure was inspired by a photographic reference, but as the work developed, she became a reflection of a personal journey — shedding an old identity and leaving a former life behind.

This piece invites viewers to feel a sense of transformation, freedom, mystery, and possibility. The nude figure is not simply a sexual subject, but a person stripped of her old identity, moving forward into the unknown. The collapsed houses and smoke represent the past dissolving behind her, while the crow suggests both mystery and a silent guardian watching over her journey.

Rendered entirely in graphite, the monochromatic quality allows depth, atmosphere, and emotion to emerge through light, shadow, and detail. The feminine figure, ruins, and symbolic elements create a narrative that feels both deeply personal and open to interpretation.
